The Professional Truck Driving Championships were held over the past three weekends (June 9, 16, and 23, 2012).  Canadian Freightways had drivers competing in the 4 western provinces for the right to represent their province and company at the National Championships this September in Moncton New Brunswick.

Drivers, spouses and team representatives enjoy comradery with fellow team members and competitors,  For CF the competition is preceded by a welcome reception & strategy meeting and the rack competition is followed by the awards banquet.  

All competitors must write a test as well as doing a safety inspection on a commercial vehicle to try and find hidden safety defects.   On the track there are obstacles that the driver must manoeuvrer around, there are numerous measurements and the clock is running.  It is a true test of driving skill and nerves.

Congratulations to all Canadian Freightways team members who competed in the events.  Special thanks to their families, volunteers and co-workers who came out to support and cheer them on.
